X-plore Berlinale Talents on-line | The Guerilla-way!

Berlinale Talents is the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival for 300 outstanding creatives from the fields of film and drama series. The idea behind Berlinale Talents lies in elevating young filmmakers careers. It offers the possibility of learning from masters such as Darren Aronofsky, Wim Wenders or Ken Loach. There are also panels and special workshops dedicated to cross-media or film editing. For example, Susan Korda with her "Kill your darlings" will be the guest this year for the third time. And if you are not enlisted as a 'Talent' you can still watch some of them on-line.

On www.berlinale-talents.de you can watch the streaming from your armchair. And although you can't ask them the questions and mingle afterwards there are some benefits of coach-surfing. You can fast-forward the boring moments, go back to what was said and see the guests in close-ups (if you're short-sighted spectator). The copyright issues of some clips forces you to do some additional research. However the biggest conformity is to watch those materials whenever and wherever you want!

Much like the Film Spring Open channel on YouTube, beside live streaming and current topics there is also a vast archive. It goes back till 2004, so you can compare the state-of-the-thing. And there you'll find already mentioned directors, but also the editing guru Walter Murch or Janusz Kaminski and Slawomir Idziak.

Here is a short selection:
On Eye Level with a Viewfinder: Slawomir Idziak
JanuszKaminski: Anatomy of the Shot
